The CRB Group builds and retrofits climate resistant dwellings uniquely suited to meet the climate change projections of the San Francisco Bay Area. Climate Resilience Builders was founded on three guiding assumptions:
1. The West Coast will experience fires and pollution at an increasing rate.
2. The Bay Area microclimates will experience heat waves and weather unpredictability.
3. The grid is not always reliable.
With these assumptions in mind, CRB focuses on building Net Zero, thermally broken, envelope sealed, high-performance dwellings.
Climate resilience is not a luxury.

What is climate resilience in the home?
A house that is net zero, or net positive- generating as much or more energy than it needs.
A house that powers its vehicles.
A house that provides uninterrupted clean air to its occupants, regardless of smoke or pollution.
A house that is electrified - that is, combustion free.
A house built locally, with local materials, by Bay Area natives.
Passive House? Pretty Good House? Net Zero?
While differentiating between these movements might be confusing, they all have the same goal at heart- build homes that last 100 years; generate the energy you consume using as little energy as possible. There are a thousand pathways to achieve this goal, and there is no single solution for every home.
Let’s Work Together
From new construction to heat pump upgrades, any incremental shift you can make in the energy performance of your home is a win for you, and a win for the environment. Ask us how you can get started.
